The Resilient Kids Project

We are super excited that The Resilient Kids Project is being developed as a workbook and online learning series!

This workshop program was developed to teach children, young people and their parents (or carers) different resilience and visualisation techniques to help them better manage their fears and anxieties.

The workshop has been run in both community halls, social clubs and primary schools as well as as an outdoor classroom experience. Its fun and interactive and parents are always amazed at how articulate and intune their children are with their own emotions and feelings!

The program is offered as either a 6 week x 1hr series or in a half day format. It is also run 1:1 with individual families as a 2 hour session teaching six key exercises either from Niki’s home based clinic or in the child’s own home.

Sessions are offered to families with children aged 6 – 11 or young people aged 12 – 16 and tailored accordingly.

Please note that although Niki is a qualified riding instructor and worked with horses before working in education she no longer teaches or offers riding lessons! The pony in the photo is Sunny who Niki has owned since a foal as part of the Dartmoor Hill Pony drift sales. She owns 4 other DHPs who are now out on loan to families in South Devon. Two of these ponies are residents at the wonderful Sirona Therapeutic Horsemanship centre working as therapy ponies supporting children and young people.
